At Harol’s Espresso, every cup of coffee carries a story of passion, resilience, and a dream that started long before our doors first opened.
Founder Harol Castro grew up in South America, where he worked on farms and developed a deep love for coffee from an early age. What began as curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion — the aroma, the craft, and the way coffee connects people.
At 18, Harol made the bold move to Australia with just $300 and a vision for the future. Starting from humble jobs, he learned every aspect of hospitality, building the resilience and skills that would one day shape his own brand. A true Latin soul — and a real Latin lover of life, people, and coffee — Harol brought his warmth and charisma into every café he created.
That vision came to life with Harol’s Espresso — now recognised as one of Brisbane’s standout coffee experiences. His inspiring journey was even featured in The Courier-Mail under the headline: “How $300 Became a Budding Café Empire.”

The Coffee
Harol's Espresso's signature blend brings together origins from Brazil, India, Central America, and Ethiopia. Designed to be enjoyed black, it reveals a pleasant aroma of apples, apricots, and honey, balanced with a gentle spice. The profile is rounded out by natural notes of chocolate and cashew nuts, delivering a smooth body, blazing acidity, and a delightful, lasting aftertaste.
